All prospective students to the Integrated Media program will follow the steps listed below for Fall term 2010 entry into the program. Check back in September, 2010 for information about the Fall 2011 application process.
Step 1: Click here to download the 2010 application packet. This single packet includes instructions and forms for the Integrated Media degree and all four options: Broadcasting, Graphic Design, Photography and Video.
Step 2: Demonstrate skills proficiency in Reading, Writing and Math. Take the College Placement Test (CPT) to evaluate your level in Math, Reading and Writing. This test is free and is administered on a walk-in basis. Results are available immediately upon completion of the test. OR submit official transcripts showing minimum coursework equivalent to completion of Math 20, Writing 90 and Reading 90.
Step 3: Meet us! Several evening Integrated Media Info Sessions will be held starting January 2011. Please check back later this fall for specific dates.
For 2011, the Digital Film Festival and the IM Porfoliio Show will be held in early June, 2011. These are great opportunities to meet other students and view their work.
Step 3: Complete the IM Application Packet. All applicants must complete the writing requirement (described in the application packet). Each option has additional requirements unique to that area. An Application checklist is included in the packet to assist you with completing all the steps.
Step 4: Return the completed application to the MHCC Admissions and Records Office by the deadline (for Fall 2010, the deadline is 5 p.m. June 25, 2010. We STRONGLY recommend that applications be turned in several weeks in advance of this deadline so that the Admissions Evaluator has time to determine if there are missing components. Applicants who wait until the deadline to submit their materials may be excluded from consideration if their application is incomplete. Only completed applications are forwarded to the Integrated Media faculty for to be reviewed for acceptance.
Step 5: Applicants for Fall 2010 will receive written notification of their status in late July, 2010.
Step 6: Accepted students will receive information about registering for fall term and be asked to attend the New Student Orientation Session, TBA, during the week prior to fall term classes.
