To subscribe automatically, launch iTunes (see download information below). Under the ADVANCED menu, select "Subscribe to Podcast"
Then type in this URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/mhccart279
Then click "OK" This should then download the first podcast and give you the option to "GET" the next one.... The updates will automatically post whenever JD uploads a new podcast to the IM site.
Your subscriptions will automatically either download or give you the "get" option if your settings are set to "Manual".
What is podcasting?
Podcasting is a type of syndication used primarily to distribute audio content. We publish a re-cap of each class sot that you'll be able to tune in what you might have missed in class. As a subscriber, you'll automatically receive new audio files. Podcasting is oftern referred to a "TIVO for the radio" because it allows subscribers to enjoy relevant content on deman. Many consider podcasting to be the future of radio. Compared to MP3 streaming, you don't need to stay online because the sound files are stored on your computer. Listen when you want.
Do I need an iPod to subscribe?
No. Subscribers often put MP3 sets on their iPod after they have downloaded them, but you can just as easily listen on your computer.
Do I need a Mac to subscribe?
Not necessary. All you need is a PC (or MAC) and a podcasting application like iTunes or Juice. Both are provided for both platforms.
